A tribute instrument celebrating the 100 year anniversary of the Gibson “Alrite” Style “D” mandolins that where only made during 1917.
Not an exact replica as this mandolin has some “upgraded” features including a truss rod, adjustable bridge and compound radius fingerboard with long lasting stainless steel frets.
This mandolin features:
Wide grain Adirondack spruce soundboard with multi colored wood marquetry purfling & rosette - One piece back and sides are “sunken” birch recovered from Moose Head Lake in Maine - Spanish cedar neck - Ebony fingerboard and headstock - Adjustable ebony bridge - Celluloid tortoise pick guard / finger rest- Vintage Waverly cloud tailpiece - Golden Age tuners - Pure spirit varnish finish
